My First Ever Thrift Haul | Shopping on a Budget

January 16, 2019

Since I was introduced to the concept of thrifting two weeks ago, I’ve fallen in love with it. For a thrifting newbie, this haul was very exciting for me and I managed to find a few gems. Despite it being summer and scorching hot here in Australia, I seem to be focusing my thrifting on outerwear, strangely, but perhaps I’ll end up thrifting summerwear in the winter, so it’ll all even out.

$10 at Vinnies

I found this lovely blue jacket at Vinnies for only $10. It’s quite thick, in a scuba-ish material and I absolutely love the silver detailing on the zipper.

$15 at Vinnies

I managed to find this dusty pink trench coat at Vinnies for $15. The length is perfect but the sleeves are a little short for me. Although for the price, I can’t complain.

$10 at Vinnies

This black and white checked jacket is probably my favourite thrift find thus far and the tags were still on when I purchased it. The sleeves are evidently a bit long for me but I love it nonetheless.

$8 at The Restore

I seem to have a slight obsession with sports jackets. I found this Italia jacket in the men’s section and I love the satin feel of it. It’s in a size medium and fits me in a nice oversized way. I’ve always loved and wanted to visit Italy so I had to pick it up.

$20 at Salvos

I found this Zara Women blazer shirt with its tags still on at Salvos. It was $20, so a tad bit expensive, but I love the plaid print. It’s a more casual styled blazer to add to my ever growing collection of plaid printed clothing items.

$6 at Vinnies

This denim vest was my first ever thrifted clothing item. I love the whole layered look in outfits and this vest is perfect to layer over tighter sweaters in colder weather and tank tops in warmer weather.

$4.50 at Salvos

This crochet vest in a lovely rust colour is perfect for autumn to add a pop of colour to an otherwise basic outfit. This outfit is definitely not a good representation but I’m excited to style it when autumn rolls around.

$12 at The Smith Family

Finally, my last thrifted item of this haul is another plaid item. I think anyone could probably tell by this point but I’m quite obsessed with plaid. This Tiger Mist branded pant also came with its tags still on, original price $79.95, so I’m very happy with my purchase.
